BIOGRAPHY

Full-time real estate agent, professional photographer, former professional athlete and multi-lingual are just a few of the words we can use to describe Omar. He has owned several businesses for the past 25 years, including a retail store and a few successful tennis academys. He invested in his first property in 1983, always having an eye in the industry it was just a matter of time before Omar would decide to join the business full time. He has been in the Hoboken area since 1988, anticipating what was about to develop he decided to take residence with his wife. Working full-time for Patina Realty LLC has been the best of both worlds, he is able to help people using his acquired people skills and also incorporate his photography skills.

This bio was written by a friend because Omar was too uncomfortable writing about himself. We have been friends for life.

He has lived in the Philippines, Ghana, Spain and the U.S. He speaks English, Spanish and Tagalog. He was in the one percentile of the students in Spain to pass the national exam, a very stressful test lasting all day and then going infront of a panel of instructors and answering questions in random from any subject. His family moved to the U.S., where Omar chose to train in tennis and pursue it professionally. He skipped a grade, played tennis, explored his artistic gifts in music and still found time to be a normal teenager. Not so normal however was the fact he improved in tennis dramatically, he was no. 1 in every age group in the state of Delaware, from the 14s up to the men's, was ranked nationally and received over 40 offers for scholarships to various universities. His father was his coach and idol in life.

Omar received a full athletic scholarship in Temple University, where he graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. He worked full-time in the summers to support himself and eventually turned pro. He received his world-ranking after two months in the U.S. Satellite Circuit, he held a world-ranking for 3 years and was forced to retire very early due to lack of financial backing. He has wins over at least 10 professionals who played in the main draw of the U.S. Open, Wimbledon and other Grand Prix events. His short life as a professional athlete was bitter/sweet, but how many athletes do you know of that can tell you they were world-ranked? He did play in the qualies of the U.S. Open and U.S. Open Pro Indoors.

His other interests and hobbies: motorcycles, very fast cars, self-defense, soccer and music. He is one of ten children, all musically inclined. Omar has composed over 45 songs, plays guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and sings. He plays the instruments by ear, but has had vocal training. He has also written several screenplays and short stories, to date he has not pursued publication, but he will.

I have not met a person as warm as this man, but don't let that warmness fooll you. He is extremely competitive and if you hire him, he will make sure he takes care of you until you are satisfied. He is goal-oriented, kind-hearted, polite, energetic, positive, humble and very pleasant to be around. He is like a brother to me, one I aspire to be like. His ambition is to build a "YMCA type" of facility in Ghana or other countries in desperate need, he says it will happen when he is in his late 60s. UNICEF, do you hear us?
